Solution statement
My Closet is an app that will help users manage their clothes in their closet. It guides the user through the decision process to add it to the closet inventory, sell it, or donate it.
To add it to the closet inventory...you take a picture of the item (i.e. jacket), you categorized it under these (i.e. jacket, shirt, skirt, pants) it is placed in the selected category. You can click on the return to the previous screen to go back to My Closet.
To sell it ...you take a picture of the item. Upload photo to link to https://offerup.com or https://poshmark.com. Follow directions on these websites.
To donate it…You take a picture of the item, you describe it and add it to My Closet donation form list to print out at end of year for tax purposes, place your item in a bag along with other donations and drive it down to a local charity donations collection (i.e.Goodwill, or a local thrift shop). Don't forget to save a copy for taxes
Design Process
I created some interview questions and interviewed 5 users in in our class about their closet at home. I was able to define the pain points by creating an Affinity Map and the results showed that the users closet had too many clothes. Some users were disorganized, which made them overwhelmed, and they lost time while deciding what to wear. Most agreed they needed to get rid of some clothes to make space.
I created a flowchart demonstrating a single flow through the application. When you open the applications, you come to the landing page that gives a brief introduction to the app. Then you have a choice to sign in or create an account. I choose the sign in button and that leads you to the applications home screen “My Closet”.
I select add item …..take a photo, put it in a category, I chose Jackets. You can see your Jacket in the Jacket category. Then click the back button or click Go back to My Closet..
